About this role:

As a Senior Funeral Director at Richmond Funeral Home, located in Richmond, British Columbia you will have the opportunity to provide meaningful support to families on their end-of -life journey by overseeing and directing all aspects of funeral services, including: filing death certificates, maintaining online obituary listings, performing decedent embalming and providing assistance during the execution of funeral services.

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Possesses a Funeral Directors license with 7+ years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director.
  • Displays proven, superior arrangement, directing and embalming skills.
  • Demonstrates active community involvement and establishes a positive profile of the Funeral Home within the community.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills with the ability to partner will all levels of the organization.
  • Exemplifies Arbor’s values of integrity, trust, teamwork and excellence.
  • Excellent knowledge of Funeral Home procedures and business practices including Everyday Excellence and Funeral Home Procedures Manuals.
  • A valid driver’s license is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Arranges, coordinates and directs funeral ceremonies.
  • Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the families we serve.
  • Acts as an example to junior staff and works closely with management in ensuring the efficient operation of the funeral home.
  • Provides support and guidance to Funeral Directors, Apprentice Funeral Directors, Funeral Director Assistants and Office Administrators.
  • Maintains active involvement within the community and is committed to building and establishing effective relationships and rapport.
  • Supports the Funeral Service Department’s vision of technology integration by understanding the role technology plays in the funeral home’s success.
