About the role

The Industrial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the office and plant environments. This role requires keen attention to detail, the ability to work safely around equipment, and knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and chemicals. The Industrial Cleaner plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Location: 141 Consolidated Drive, Paris, ON

Dedicated Day Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday

Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm – 1:00am, Monday – Thursday

Shift Premium: $3.00/hour for afternoons

Job Description

  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners and floor-sweeping/scrubbing machines to remove dirt, scraps, coolant, oil and heavy debris from office and shop floor areas
  • Dispose of recycled cardboard in the compactor and bale cardboard as required
  • Performs general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in production areas, and office
  • Wash walls, ceiling and windows, and ensure all surfaces are disinfected as required
  • Clean and maintain restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas
  • Operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, and vacuum systems
  • Safely handle and apply industrial cleaning chemicals, following all safety protocols and guidelines
  • Understand and comply with Material Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used, and wear required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment

Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and products
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Physical requirements include the use of strength such as pushing, lifting, and or moving objects during the work, as well as standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending

Qualifications

Experience cleaning within manufacturing environments (shopfloor and office)

Knowledge of safe chemical and solvent handling practices

Experience operating a forklift or willing to learn
