What we offer

Mattamy is looking for an experienced professional to establish, operate and continuously improve a disciplined, transparent approach to vendor management and technology spend across the IT organization. The Manager, Technology Vendor Governance is responsible for ensuring vendor relationships deliver measurable value, are cost-effective, align with IT and business priorities.

This role manages the end-to-end vendor management lifecycle, ensuring governance standards are consistently applied and financial and performance data is reliable and actionable. Partnering closely with IT leadership and Finance, the role provides decision‑ready insights that enable better prioritization, cost optimization, and risk management. This role is accountable for improving transparency, predictability, and ROI of technology spend. Success is defined by strong operational execution, reliable data, improved transparency and consistent governance across IT vendors and financial processes.

What you’ll do

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a standardized IT vendor management framework, including onboarding, governance cadence, performance reviews, escalation paths, and renewal decision processes.

  • Establish clear vendor segmentation (e.g., strategic partners, staff augmentation, execution support) and define expectations for each category.

  • Maintain a centralized inventory of IT vendors, including services provided, contract terms, renewal dates, spend, ownership, performance status, and risk indicators.

  • Ensure consistent documentation, accountability, and transparency across all significant vendor relationships.

  • Define and enforce standard criteria and scorecards for vendor evaluation and selection, ensuring decisions consider cost, performance, delivery model, scalability, security/risk, and adoption impact.

  • Ensure vendor selection decisions are data-driven, well-documented, and aligned to strategic and operational outcomes.

  • Define and manage a vendor KPI and scorecard framework that measures performance across multiple dimensions

  • Lead recurring vendor performance reviews with internal stakeholders and vendors, ensuring action plans are defined, tracked, and closed.

  • Develop “P&L-style” views of technology investments that connect spend to outcomes, benefits, and business value.

  • Proactively identify cost optimization opportunities across vendor contracts, licenses, and services, including right-sizing, renegotiation, and elimination of underutilized spend.

  • Highlight risks related to vendor dependency, concentration, or insufficient internal capability.

  • Deliver executive-ready reporting for IT leadership summarizing vendor health, spend trends, key risks, optimization opportunities, and decisions required.

  • Support leadership discussions by providing analysis and recommendations related to vendor renewals and cost optimization.

Whatyoubring

  • College diploma or university degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience (5+ years).
  • Experience managing IT vendors and/or technology financial governance in a complex enterprise environment
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost analysis, and capex/opex concepts
  • Proven ability to design and operate governance processes that drive accountability
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into executive-level insights
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working closely with IT delivery teams and Finance partners
  • Proven ability to achieve performance goals and meet deadlines in a dynamic, results‑driven environment.
  • Must be able to travel within Canada and the United States, as required

Bonus Points

  • Exposure to IT portfolio management or technology investment planning
  • Experience in asset‑intensive or project‑based industries (real estate, construction, infrastructure, financial services)
  • Familiarity with IT financial management or vendor tooling

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $130,000. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.

You are also eligible to participate in Mattamy’s annual bonus program which gives you the opportunity to increase your total compensation if business and individual goals are achieved.
