Luther College is seeking a Financial Services Officer with strong financial administration skills and an exceptional commitment to customer service. This position is responsible for the accurate billing, receivables, and revenue tracking for both Luther College High School (LCHS) and Luther College at the University of Regina (LCUR). The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for students, parents, and staff, providing clear, courteous, and timely communication regarding accounts and payments. The ideal candidate brings both accounting accuracy and a service-oriented mindset to support the College community with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities
Student Billing & Receivables – High School
- Maintain accurate student accounts using Financial Edge accounting software
- Provide clear, respectful, and timely communication with families regarding account status
- Record tuition, boarding, and extracurricular charges; process payments
- Apply scholarships, bursaries, and financial aid accurately
- Track and manage payment plans for transportation, meal programs, and other services
- Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure billing information is understood and accessible
- Prepare tuition donation receipts and support year-end audit processes
Student Billing & Office Support – University
- Serve as a front-line representative of the Finance and Residence Services Office—in person, by phone, and by email—offering professional and helpful service
- Assist with residence and meal plan payments for university students
- Accept and process tuition and housing payments
- Support day-to-day administrative functions including mail handling, supply ordering, and courier coordination
Accounting and Financial Administration
- Prepare and post journal entries; support monthly close activities
- Maintain accurate working papers and financial records
- Perform reconciliations and assist in general ledger maintenance
- Initiate and process electronic fund transfers and credit card refunds as required
Other Responsibilities
- Prepare, file and report GST/PST returns
- Participate in cash flow monitoring and other financial operations
- Assist in special projects and cross-functional tasks as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in accounting, business, or a related field
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in education or non-profit sectors
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal communication
- Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel); knowledge of the specialized software used by Luther College would be an asset (Financial Edge)
- High degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a positive and patient attitude
- Commitment to confidentiality is required
- A team player with a collaborative mindset and willingness to assist others

- A high degree of patience, discretion, and clarity is required when interacting with diverse members of the College community
Working Conditions
- This is a shared position between Luther College High School (1500 Royal Street) and Luther College at the University of Regina (3737 Wascana Parkway); Time will be split between both campuses every week; The successful candidate must be able to reliably travel between the two locations and manage responsibilities across both sites
- This is a full-time position, with hours of work normally totaling 35 hours per week
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for special events, projects, or time-sensitive financial processes
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $57,757 – $77,957 annually. Luther College offers a competitive salary, vacation, medical and dental benefits, a health/personal spending account, educational opportunities, flexible work environment, and an employee and family assistance plan.
