Role: Operational Risk Control Analyst

Duration: 12 months + extensions

Overview The Operations Permanent Control (OPC) team sits within CIB Americas Operations under the ITO Chief Conduct & Controls Office (CCCO). OPC is responsible for strengthening, monitoring, and enhancing the overall Operational Risk Control framework across Global Markets Operations, Global Banking Operations, and Client Engagement & Protection for North America. The team acts as an independent control function and does not participate in operational production.

OPC’s Mandate Includes

• Leading the governance, evaluation, and continuous enhancement of the Operational Risk Control framework.
• Maintaining a centralized, streamlined, and secure view of all CIB Operations controls.
• Ensuring all controls are accurately and continuously mapped in the Operations risk and control applications.
• Monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) through scorecards, dashboards, and structured reporting.
• Overseeing incidents, audit recommendations, procedures, and escalation points.
• Performing comprehensive quality assurance reviews of Level 1 operational processes, controls, and supervisory activities.

Responsibilities

• Track and report on Audit Recommendations, Permanent Control Actions, Historical Incidents, Self-Identified Action Plans, ORUS T+1 sign-off, ORCORP KRIs, and upcoming/past-due Procedures.
• Monitor KRIs and KPIs, ensuring timely escalation of issues to OPC SPOCs and Operations Management.
• Validate the accuracy, completeness, and relevance of all data used in reports, ensuring consistency with defined quality standards.
• Prepare periodic OPC reporting, and support ad-hoc analysis, presentations, and special requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate workflows, or enhance data quality.
• Stay up to date on all relevant bank policies, procedures, and regulatory updates.

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a similar operational risk, control, or reporting role.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to interact confidently with all levels of management.
• Strong organizational ability with proven multitasking and prioritization skills.
• Ethical, control-minded, and detail-oriented, with strong ownership of deliverables.
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to identify process enhancements and improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

• University degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of banking operational products, front-to-back process flows, and control frameworks.
• Familiarity with the bank’s risk management tools and systems.
