Leasing Agent, Co-op- Toronto

We’re looking for a Leasing Agent Co-op for the winter term to support our team and help keep things running smoothly for our residents. In this role, you’ll help meet with prospective tenants, answer questions, and assist with the rental process. A background in sales or customer service is helpful, but we mainly value a positive attitude, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn. This position is active and can involve working across different properties, so being flexible and comfortable adapting to changing needs will help you succeed. If you want to gain hands-on experience in leasing while contributing to a respectful, supportive work environment, this opportunity is a great fit.

What you will do:

  • Meet and screen prospective tenants, show available units, and follow up as needed.
  • Help check upcoming move-in suites and share any repair or cleaning needs with the Property Manager.
  • Explain community and unit features to potential residents and help match their needs to what we offer.
  • Assist Leasing Agents with reviewing applications, collecting documents, and preparing information for the Property Manager.
  • Help prepare leases and related forms (schedules, assignments, sublets, addendums).
  • Keep the Availability Report updated with current information.
  • Work with building staff to make sure suites are ready for new move-ins.
  • Welcome and orient new residents when they arrive.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily inquiries and showings.
  • Support the renewal process by sending and tracking renewal notices.
  • Help with basic market research on nearby rental communities.
  • Share feedback on advertising and let the marketing team know when updates may be needed.
  • Assist with completing hydro forms and collecting basic appliance information for vacated units.
  • Attend required training to stay up to date with policies and regulations.

Who we are looking for:

  • Flexibly support various portfolios as assigned by the Leasing Manager, adapting to shifting responsibilities based on operational needs.
  • Previous experience in marketing/leasing in the property management or related industry is a strong asset
  • Excellent customer service experience in a sales-related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
  • Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), Ontario Human Rights Code, Privacy, and AODA legislation is a strong asset
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends on a regular basis
  • Must have a neat, clean, professional appearance, always representing the company in a professional manner.
  • Must possess a vehicle and a valid Class G driver’s license
