Position Summary

The Retail Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, sales, and service in the location. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated and customer-focused individual who will ensure the highest standards of safety, service, and efficiency. The Retail Manager works closely with the General Manager. The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $80,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers. Greet and assist customers in a manner that models exemplary conduct to other staff.

Lead by example and initiate contact with every customer

Make sure all customer complaints are addressed and managed professionally, leaving the customer with a positive resolution. Manage all aspects of the store retail functions. Ensure that all health, safety, and security regulations are adhered to and required standards are met. Increase sales, expand markets, and promote business to meet given goals within provided guidelines. Make sound business decisions. Manage in-store employee hours, performance, attendance, and misconduct. Select, orient, and train new employees.

All cash functions for the store

Provide management with required sales, staff, and other assigned productivity reports. Hold staff accountable for performance, attendance, and misconduct. Supervise all staff in the establishment and coordinate work to ensure productive operations at all hours.

Employee engagement

Make sure that merchandise is always presented neatly and that items are priced correctly. Manage the pricing in a product’s life cycle by taking seasonal changes into account. Oversee Receiving, Overstock management, Cycle counts, and Front-end retail. Inventory and in-stock lead for the store.

Skills and Qualifications

A broad knowledge of building supplies is necessary.

Superior customer service skills

Ability to set priorities and deliver results with deadlines. Competitive spirit and results driven.

High sense of urgency and drive

Ability to motivate, train, and coach others to a higher level of success. Flexible availability based on business needs (including weekends, inventory, evenings) Ability to set priorities and deliver results with deadlines.

Computer Skills required- advanced Microsoft Excel

High energy level that is demonstrated on the sales floor while monitoring and providing direction and leadership.
