Infrastructure Integration Specialist (N/S) - Senior (RQ10519) Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement | 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto, Ontario (Onsite)
Contract: April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027 (247 business days, probable extension)
About The Role We are looking for a highly skilled Mainframe Network Specialist who can sustain and modernize Government of Ontario's critical Mainframe infrastructure. Our ideal candidate has deep expertise in TCP/IP, VTAM, NNM, NDM, AT-TLS, and Mainframe networking tools, with proven experience supporting Z16 processors, DR CO-LO environments, and large-scale operational networks. They will excel in every phase—from daily KTLO operations to hardware/software refresh projects, migration, decommissioning, and incident management—ensuring network reliability, SLA compliance, and seamless sustainment.
Collaborating with operations teams, stakeholders, and management, the specialist must resolve complex network incidents, provide technical MOPs, capture network traces, and articulate root causes while maintaining ticket SLAs. The ideal candidate demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of Mainframe networking from GDC to CO-LO, automation capabilities, and integration services like identity, logging, and monitoring. They must execute proactively, balancing project initiatives with operational demands without service disruptions.
Acting as subject matter experts, these roles drive Mainframe network maintenance, hardware support, and currency activities for enterprise-critical systems.
What You'll Do
Provide operational support and project leadership for Mainframe network sustainment and modernization.
Deliverables & Key Responsibilities
- Enable day-to-day operations of Government of Ontario's Mainframe networks.
- Plan/configure network components for Z16 processor and DR CO-LO Mainframe support.
- Support existing networks from GDC to CO-LO.
- Decommission network software/hardware configurations.
- Support applications hosted on existing Mainframes.
- Daily operational changes, incident/problem management.
- On-call/standby support; timely ticket closure.
- Client/management status updates; SLA adherence.
- Device maintenance; technical MOPs for changes.
- Network capture acquisition, documentation, root cause analysis.
- Mainframe Software/Hardware Refresh Project + KTLO activities.
Experience And Skill Set Requirements Specific Technology Experience (30%)
- Core Technologies: TCP/IP, VTAM, NNM, NDM, AT-TLS (clients/servers/Mainframe), VPSPRINT, Deliver, TN3270.
- Daily operational changes/incident management; on-call support.
- Timely ticket closure; client/management communication.
- Strong Mainframe Networking understanding.
- New infrastructure automation per design.
- Intake/incident resolution; integration (identity, logging, monitoring).
- Reporting; skills/knowledge transfer; project status updates.
- End-to-end project leadership (technical/non-technical).
Communications & Customer Service (10%)
- Work with customers/stakeholders using communication to resolve issues.
- Negotiate/document process intelligence.
Analysis & Problem-Solving (10%)
- Mainframe hardware refresh + KTLO/modernization activities.
- Daily Mainframe Network Tools (TCP/IP, NNM, NDM, VTAM, Netview) for proactive support.
Mainframe Network Support Experience (20%)
- Demonstrated operational support in large-scale environments like Government of Ontario Mainframe networks.

- Hours: 7.25 hours per day
- Security Clearance: No Clearance Required
