KPMG is looking for a Director, IT Operations. The role provides strategic and operational leadership across KPMG’s IT Infrastructure, Platforms, and Cloud environments. The Director, IT Operations, will lead and manage a team of IT professionals responsible for the delivery, maintenance, and monitoring of our IT services in line with service levels and business requirements; joining a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunities for clients and communities around the world.

This position blends deep operational expertise with enterprise governance, business partnership, and cross-functional leadership to ensure technology services are stable, scalable, and aligned with organizational strategy.

What you will do:

Operational Leadership & Platform Reliability

  • Oversee daily operations and health of the enterprise automation and data lake platforms, ensuring availability, performance, and security
  • Provide continuous support for our Cloud Data Centers (Azure and AWS), SaaS Services, and 40+ office locations while ensuring strong service delivery
  • Establish and enforce operational governance for SLAs, uptime, incident management, and change control
  • Lead capacity planning, performance optimization, incident management, maturity, and operational risk mitigation
  • Ensure proactive lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, and operational readiness of platforms

Governance, Project and Operations Delivery

  • Ensure adherence to and implement updates as required to governance frameworks (e.g., CAB for automation/data initiatives) to ensure consistent, value-driven prioritization
  • Develop and manage portfolio visibility to align enhancements with enterprise strategy and risk posture
  • Ensure compliance with regulations as it pertains to enterprise operations, maintaining asset and software inventories (CMDB), quarterly reviews and standards
  • Assess project work and assign resources to project as required
  • Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture, security standards, and compliance requirements
  • Promote standardization, reusable patterns, and cross-platform integration

Monitoring, Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure ongoing monitoring, optimization, and maintenance of automation and data services in production
  • Implement observability practices, including metrics, alerting, and predictive analytics
  • Drive continuous improvement cycles to reduce operational costs, enhance reliability, and minimize manual interventions

Operational and Performance Reporting

  • Elevate reporting to an Executive Ops Dashboard that aligns operational performance to business outcomes
  • Incorporate governance indicators (compliance posture, automation control adherence, data quality scores)
  • Ensure the reporting framework supports trend analysis and forecasting, not just historical reporting

Scaling & Innovation

Promote an innovation funnel that operationalizes experimentation: proof of concepts standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment

  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, security, and application teams to maintain alignment with organizational technology strategies
  • Drive shared accountability across DevOps, DataOps, and SecOps practices to ensure end-to-end operational excellence
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to technology leaders, translating operational insights into strategic actions

What you bring to the role:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT operations or data platform management, including 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Outstanding leadership skills with experience fostering a collaborative team approach to decision-making and the ability to influence, promote innovation and engage stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and achieve organizational goals through leadership capabilities that include leading people, change management, strategic partnerships, and business acumen
  • Strong technical understanding of distributed computing operations and multi cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) covering compute, networking, observability, IDM, compliance etc.
  • Experience leading IT Operations while managing excellent service delivery, expanding service offerings, and managing vendor relations and partnerships, while overseeing a cost-effective budget
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code, DevOps methodology and IT Operations
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and change capability
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
