About the role
Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key business partner for stakeholders throughout the business providing data and insights to improve informed decisions. Utilizing strong financial reporting, analytical, critical thinking, and communication, this role supports cross functional partners, the Senior Financial Analyst will support management in driving the business forward.
This is a hybrid role, requiringthree days onsite at our Mississauga Head Office.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Prepare month-end close reporting, including:
- Preparation of financial/operational reports
- Variance analysis including root cause analysis, developing action plans, and executing on those plans with team management
- Balance sheet account reconciliations
- Analysis of results vs. budget, forecast and prior year
- Collaboration with key stakeholders across the business to review results and provide recommendations for key business decisions
- Develop annual budget and quarterly forecasts in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and key leaders in our business
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data, quantifying financial opportunity and risk, acting as a finance business leader, supporting functional leaders to make strategic decisions
- Lead and/or participate in business initiatives providing a financial lens and improving decision making processes
- Develop/maintain key metrics as required for decision making
- Ensure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulations
- Other projects or duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, commerce, or other related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in financial reporting/analysis/financial planning
- Currently holding or working towards the CPA designation
- Advanced problem solving and critical thinking in compiling and analyzing information with the ability to leverage breadth of expertise in understanding cross functional impact
- Ability to work independently in a detail oriented fast paced environment while meeting set deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Excel Skills, PowerPoint, knowledge of accounting software (i.e., JD Edwards), databases (i.e., HOST, Hyperion, Cognos)
- Ability to work extended hours as needed
- This position must pass a post-offer background check
