Role Description The CAD Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area. This position is responsible for creating detailed CAD drawings and shop drawings for custom architectural woodwork and cabinetry projects, ensuring all designs meet client specifications and company standards. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting architectural plans, collaborating with project managers and production teams, updating and revising drawings as needed, and preparing documentation for manufacturing. The CAD Technician will also coordinate with engineering and fabrication staff to resolve design issues, maintain organized digital files, and support continuous improvements in drawing accuracy and efficiency. The role requires consistent on-site collaboration to align designs with production capabilities and project timelines.
Qualifications
Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to assist with CAD-related and workflow issues. Computer Maintenance and Computer Repair experience to ensure workstations and CAD tools function reliably. Knowledge of Operating Systems relevant to CAD software environments. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and ability to produce precise technical drawings. Experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, or construction-related drafting is strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail, accuracy in measurements, and ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with design, production, and project management teams. Relevant technical diploma, certificate, or degree in drafting, CAD technology, or a related field.
