About the role
Summary The Shipper Receiver shall be responsible for all incoming and outgoing products, to maintain logs and ensure that all shipping/receiving deadlines are met in accordance with company objectives and procedures. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk understands the impact of this position on other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of inbound and outbound items. Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position.
Job Duties Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies Collaborates and communicates with freight carriers as required Schedule daily transportation needs with different freight carriers/couriers as required Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods Maintain filing of shipping/receiving documents Perform receipt of goods into the ERP system Inspect and verify incoming goods against documents for the accuracy of quantity and items Inspect shipments according to quality procedures Maintain accurate put-away of goods to assigned bin locations Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items before signing off Sort and distribute incoming shipments Performs local deliveries as required Ensures all shipments are correctly picked, packed and shipped according to schedule Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventories Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation Problem-solve for any cases of missing documents, shipments and deliveries Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements High school diploma or GED College diploma and or university degree preferred At least 2 years of experience in Shipping and Receiving Must have forklift license. Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred Valid driver's license and good driving record Experience or familiarity with export documentation. Knowledge of filling out waybills, bills of landing and international shipments is an asset Ability to weigh and measure items Working knowledge of safe packing methods Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
