DUTIES
UCN is seeking Sessional University Instructors to teach courses for the Bachelor of Arts programs in the communities of York Factory,
Pukatawagan, Oxford House, Peguis and God’s River until June 26, 2026. Discipline areas include Aboriginal and Northern Studies, History
Math, English, Sociology, Environmental Science and other areas. The courses typically run on weeknights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., however,
some Monday evenings and Saturdays could be included. Some face to face sessions are preferred, such as combination of Face to Face
and virtual with travel into communities twice per 3 credit hour course with virtual delivery taking place at the instructor’s own workplace.
Class size is typically 10-20 students. The stipend includes preparation time, class time and wrap-up.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience teaching in a post-secondary environment
- Experience teaching in First Nations communities
- Experience using various learning platforms (Zoom, Adobe, D2L, etc.)
- Experience teaching adults and Indigenous learners
- Ability to integrate Indigenous knowledge into all courses
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures
- Commitment to life-long learning
ASSETS
• PhD in related discipline

Ability to speak Cree
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, or equivalent as travel is required
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
