Pre Production Receiving Technician II

Shift Time: 2:00pm – 10:30pm
Job Summary:
The Pre-Production Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring that every order that leaves the department is 100% ready with accurate and up to date production information ready for processing. Develop strong customer relations by ensuring that time sensitive jobs are delivered in an appropriate manner.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
RECEIVING – 50%
Receiving lenses
-
Collect lenses received from internal and outsource labs and scan to receive in the system.

Matching work tickets with the lenses and sending to correct stations in the lab (shipping, finishing…).
-
Placing stickers and ensure all rush orders will be prioritized.
Sorting:
-
Pick up frames from tracing and place them in correct bin numbers
-
Ensure all binned lenses are in corrects locations
-
Collecting frames and lenses and place them in trays and send to Finishing department.
-
Ensure all frames and lenses are in correct trays and all jobs are scanned to the correct stations.
Receiving frames:
-
Collecting packages from shipping, opening boxes, sorting for receiving.
-
Receiving frames in DVI software by matching the frame information in the system
-
Inspect frames for any defect or broken parts
-
Ensure that all frames are received to correct orders
TRACING – 50%
-
Calibrating tracers every morning/afternoon/evening.
-
Inspect frames for any defect or broken parts.
-
Removing lenses from frames using hands or tools
-
Trace frames using tracers and record in the system.
-
Copy shape from patterns database to appropriate job.
-
Ensure that all frames are traced with correct sizes and shape.
-
Troubleshooting for orders with tracing issues.
-
Oversee the tracing department to ensure all frames are traced by end of day.
Other
-
Maintain records of frame tracking.
-
Clear out all boxes and keep the receiving area clean by end of day.
-
Assist tracing and data entry when needed.
All of the tasks above, plus any other tasks as specified by the supervisor
Qualifications:
-
High school graduate is the minimum education requirement
-
Must be able to work in a fast paced high volume environment.
-
Keen attention to details, fast accurate use of computers and data entry.
-
Must be able to handle repetitive tasks while maintaining consistency, accuracy and efficiency.
-
Manual dexterity required to manipulate objects. Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with the hands and fingers.
-
Experience that requires alpha-numerical recognition, interpretation and execution is an asset.
-
Must be well organized, have excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities, and have a heightened sense of urgency.

Continuous learning is a large part of this position, and therefore ability to retain varying degrees of information is required (significant use of memory)
-
Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
-
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as an individual with minimal supervision.
-
Standing, walking, reaching and bending constantly throughout the day.
-
Must be able to lift approximately 25 lbs.
