Position Overview
Shape where our people live and how they thrive. This role leads the strategy, operations, and experience of employee housing across multiple mountain destinations, ensuring our teams are supported with safe, well-managed, and welcoming homes.
Salary: dependent on experience
Shifts: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Canmore
Key Responsibilities:
Employee****Housing Program Management
- Oversee the overall Employee housing program across all Basecamp regions.
- Ensure employee housing supports operational staffing needs and growth plans.
- Develop and maintain housing policies, procedures, and standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for housing-related matters across the organization.
- Ensure housing spaces are safe, organized, and aligned with company standards.
- Monitor housing utilization, capacity, and availability across all locations.
Housing Strategy & Capacity Planning
- Assess workforce housing needs and develop strategies to support seasonal and long-term staffing requirements.
- Identify opportunities to expand housing capacity through leases, partnerships, or property acquisitions.
- Conduct research on industry trends and workforce housing best practices to ensure Basecamp remains competitive.
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on housing availability, risks, and future requirements.
Lease & Property Management
- Manage all employee housing leases, agreements, and renewals.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of company-leased and owned housing properties
- Liaise with landlords and property owners regarding lease terms, renewals, and negotiations
- Track lease obligations, occupancy levels, and property usage
- Ensure housing arrangements comply with relevant tenancy regulations.
Utilities & Service Administration
- Manage all employee housing leases, agreements, and renewals.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of company-leased and owned housing properties.
- Liaise with landlords and property owners regarding lease terms, renewals, and negotiations.
- Track lease obligations, occupancy levels, and property usage.
- Ensure housing arrangements comply with relevant tenancy regulations.
Maintenance & Property Standards
- Establish and maintain housing standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
- Conduct periodic property inspections across all housing locations.
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and property improvements with internal teams and contractors.
- Oversee inventory and supply management for housing units.
Employee Housing Administration
- Oversee employee housing assignments in collaboration with Operations and People & Culture.
- Coordinate employee move-ins and move-outs.
- Ensure housing expectations and guidelines are communicated clearly to residents.
- Manage access to housing units, including keys and digital lock systems.
Rent Administration & Payroll Coordination
- Oversee the administration of employee housing rent structures.
- Ensure accurate rent deduction information is provided to Payroll.
- Maintain records related to rent rates, deposits, and employee deductions.
- Ensure consistency and transparency in housing charges and policies.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure housing practices comply with provincial tenancy legislation in Alberta and British Columbia.
- Maintain appropriate documentation related to housing agreements and occupancy.
- Monitor risk factors related to housing safety, compliance, and occupancy standards.
- Implement processes to ensure consistent housing management across all locations.
Requirements
- Experience in property management, hospitality operations, workforce housing, or housing program management.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience managing multiple properties or operational programs simultaneously.
- Knowledge of tenancy regulations in Alberta and British Columbia, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational oversight.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and housing/property management systems.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift light household items when needed.
