Shift Timing: 0600-1800/1800-0600 two-week continental rotation
**Pay Rate: $**18.35/hour for the first 6 months, then would transition to $21.00/hour
Essential Job Functions:
Site Access Control System management includes administration and operation to ensure that:
- All system devices (doors, readers, gates, cameras etc.) are working and maintained to operate as required.
- All cardholders have necessary accesses.
- Access is provided in accordance with site policies (authorized custodians, card holders possess the necessary prerequisites).
- Access provided is in accordance with requirements.
- Participate in updating or creating new procedures pertaining to system.
- Activate the site Send Word Now and Everbridge call out systems for the Site Fire Marshall.
- Monitor site CCTV throughout the shift and perform CCTV tours regularly.
- Accessing the IEC database to check expiry dates for workers coming on site.
- Clip videos and save them for IOL/Paladin management to access when requested.
- Operate Site Access Control System to control access to the Imperial Oil Nanticoke Site for the purpose of security.
- Operate Photo ID System in cooperation with the Site Access Control System for the purpose of security.
- Ensure/Request supplies for Site Access Control System when needed.
- Issue, activate, reactivate, and deactivate Site Access Control System cards on authorized request.
- Ensure photos of all Site Access Control System applicants are in the Site Access Control System
- Monitor User Operations and assist with trouble areas.
- Review Operator Logs daily for temporary modifications on cardholders.
- Perform traffic duties at Main Gate Mon-Fri including vehicle inspections.
- Perform rover duties as requested by the Security Shift Supervisor as well as vehicle inspections at remote gates and contraband (bag) searches at various location.
Requirements:
- A Valid Ontario Security License
- A Valid Drivers class G license with clean abstract.
- At least two years of security experience in an industrial setting would be an asset.
- Post-Secondary education in a law enforcement/security program from a recognized college would be an asset.
- Extensive general computer knowledge to perform all required tasks. Must possess a detailed knowledge of the MS Office, with the ability to extract and manipulate data using MS Access/Excel. A working knowledge of relational database composition, operation and query functions an asset.
- Experience working at another IOL post would be considered an asset.
- Possess good general office and organizational skills.
- This position requires excellent communication skills written and verbal with the emphasis on practical industrial knowledge. The job requires tact, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- This position is stationed out of an office, but physical demands are required for traffic duties.
- Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act.
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy.
- Utilize two-way radio and computer applications for communicating site activities.
- Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when required.
- Offer support to any person in need such as providing good customer service when providing a security presence, such as providing direction, responding to emergency situation involving violent individuals and injuries.
