We are looking for a full time Housekeeping Supervisor to add to our team. This position is for our Chateau Nova Yellowknife location at 4571-48 Street Yellowknife, NWT.
Primary Function
Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure guest rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and safety in accordance with Nova Hotels’ policies and procedures.
The Housekeeping Supervisor is a hands-on role, assisting the housekeeping department by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness for the hotel. The qualified candidate must have open/ flexible availability; the hours of work are full-time (30+ hours per week) and include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities and Position Duties (including but not limited to the following)

Ensure highest standards of cleanliness in accordance with housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures and Key Deliverables.

Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the work of room attendants, laundry attendants, and housepersons.

Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness standards and safety regulations are met. Updates the code status for the Front Office.

Liaise with the Front Office and Maintenance department in related tasks such as room status, VIP’s, and room maintenance work requests.

Assist with administration including inventory control, closing discrepancy reports, and daily arrival list.

Hire, train, and coach housekeeping staff in cleaning duties, safety procedures, and use of equipment.

Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and linens, prepare requisitions for replacements and repairs.

Check a minimum of 50 rooms to ensure Quality Standards are consistently met.

Resolve guest complaints regarding room cleanliness or service issues promptly and professionally.

Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety and WSCC standards.

Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and security concerns immediately.

Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for improving efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Accountable for the housekeeping department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.

Other projects/duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Salary

Education: Secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
-
Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a hospitality cleaning role (such as Room Attendant or similar). Previous supervisory or team lead experience in housekeeping is an asset and will be given preference.

Language: Fluent English (required); additional languages an asset.

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Demonstrated ability to supervise and train staff, multi-task, maintain attention to detail and shift priorities in a fast paced environment.

Wage: $20 per hour

Organizational Skills: Plans and prioritizes daily work activities; manages time efficiently; coordinates multiple tasks; maintains organized records of schedules, inventories, and inspections.

Health & Safety: Adheres to safety standards, WSCC regulations, and company policies; reports hazards or maintenance issues promptly; ensures safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
