One (1) regular part time position (0.6 FTE, 42 hours biweekly) available. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
Licensed Psychologist
$54.8066 to $69.7590 hourly
Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) is mandated to provide inpatient and outpatient Court-ordered and Court-related assessment and treatment services to young persons in conflict with the law, pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. YFPS also provides services to young persons found unfit to stand trial and those youth found not criminally responsible due to a mental disorder (NCRMD), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.
As a Licensed Psychologist, you will conduct independent psychological assessments for youth involved in the justice system, whether residing in the community or in custody. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver specialized counseling and therapeutic interventions, while also providing supervision and mentorship to junior psychologists and students. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of assessment and treatment services, contributing meaningfully to the mental health and rehabilitation of justice-involved youth.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
- Applicants with a Ph. D. and eligible for registration with the College of CHCPBC may be considered for appointment at a lower classification. NB: As a condition of continued employment, such an appointee is required to become registered as a Licensed Psychologist.
- Experience with adolescent population; writing reports to Court; 3 years minimum clinical experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
