About the role
The Company
Climate change is the defining challenge of our time, and the team at Invert is building innovative tools that empower individuals and businesses alike to tackle the problem head on. We are a team of experienced start-up scalers that have taken ideas from a whiteboard to the New York Stock Exchange, all while maintaining a focus on a rewarding, award-winning team culture. At this early stage of Invert's growth, we're looking for talented people who are passionate about making a difference through their work.
We invest in projects that result in carbon credits being created, such as planting a forest or building a machine that sucks CO2 from the air. By selling these credits on to individuals or businesses, we are able to generate revenue that lets us make more investments in projects that reduce or remove CO2, and we continue the cycle!
Place of Work
We work virtually with a preference for candidates based in or near or Vancouver, Ottawa or Toronto, Canada. Our team meetings are held within EST working hours.
Our Fit
We’re strong believers that diversity, equity and inclusion are a key strength and integral to our future success. We want colleagues that can think differently, bring a range of experiences, are creative within their role, and know how to drive towards a team goal. We value both experience and expertise but emphasize capitalizing on the future potential of remarkable people. We’re looking for colleagues who want to take action on climate change and drive our society towards net zero emissions by 2050. We believe in working hard and in being flexible in how we get things done. We believe that working with good and kind people is as important as working with smart people. Our compensation model embodies rewards for performance and we believe everyone in the company should share in the upside of our success. In order to ensure this, we offer equity participation in addition to salary.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Head of Growth to serve as the strategic right hand to the CEO on all revenue and expansion-related activities.
This is not a traditional sales role. It is a hybrid commercial leadership position requiring agility: one day you will be closing a major enterprise carbon off-take agreement, the next you will be managing critical relationships with our project development partners, and the next you will be pitching Invert’s vision to institutional investors to secure our next round of funding.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Growth & Carbon Credit Sales (Revenue Generation)
- Own the global commercial strategy for Invert’s portfolio of carbon credits.
- Drive B2B enterprise and intermediary sales, identifying and closing long-term offtake agreements and immediate spot-market sales with corporations pursuing ambitious net-zero targets and intermediaries helping them get there.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, moving complex deals from initial outreach to contract negotiation and close.
- Articulate the unique value proposition of Invert’s high-quality, vetted projects to differentiate us in a crowded market.
2. Strategic Partnerships (Supply & Development)
- Act as the primary relationship manager for our network of carbon project implementers (the supply side).
- Ensure partner satisfaction and retention, serving as the bridge between their project needs and our commercial demand.
- Identify and vet new high-potential projects and partners that align with Invert’s quality standards and growth goals.
3. Capital Raising & Investor Relations
-
Work directly with the CEO to attract investment into both Invert (corporate equity/debt) and our specific carbon projects (project finance).
-
Lead or support the creation of pitch decks, financial models, and investment materials.
-
Represent Invert at investment conferences and lead pitches to VCs, Private Equity firms, family offices, and institutional investors.
Candidate Profile
Must-Haves:
-
Commercial Traction: 7+ years of experience in high-growth commercial roles (Sales, Business Development, or Growth Equity), preferably within climate tech, sustainability, fintech, or carbon markets.
-
Deal Closer: Proven track record of closing complex, six-to-seven-figure B2B deals or partnerships.
-
Financial Fluency: Ability to confidently discuss IRR, ROI, and complex financing structures with sophisticated investors. You don't just sell products; you sell business value and investment potential.
-
Relationship Builder: High EQ with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders, from project developers to c-suite executives.
-
Mission Alignment: A genuine passion for climate action and a deep understanding (or willingness to rapidly learn) of carbon market dynamics.
Nice-to-Haves:
-
Existing network of corporate sustainability buyers or climate-focused investors.
-
Experience in a venture-backed startup environment.
-
Bilingualism (English/Spanish) is a strong asset.
What We Offer:
- Competitive base salary with an aggressive, uncapped commission/bonus structure based on revenue and capital raised.
- Equity package commensurate with a pre-C-suite leadership role.
- A clear growth path to the Chief Growth Officer title based on performance milestones.
- Opportunity to travel internationally to visit project sites and witness the tangible impact of your work.
- Flexible working environment (we prioritize output over desk presence).
