Delivery VETR 188 Veterinary Terminology through the School of Continuing Education. This is an online course with asynchronous and real-time delivery. The course is part of the Veterinary Technology curriculum and delivery and standards for assessment are as per the Veterinary Technology Program.

Prepare and update existing teaching materials to enhance delivery.

To deliver the course as per the schedule provided including scheduled lectures and/or tutorials. To be available to students for office hours in order to offer feedback and advising.

Evaluate students through the use of exams, assignments and observations. To record student progress.

Counsel students and prospective students on matters pertaining to the program and careers.
Specific Accountabilities
Duties include: Delivering VETR 188 on-line as per scheduled hours; creating, updating, and delivering lectures and learning activities; demonstrate knowledge of the veterinary profession and importance of terminology for the profession. To meet with students to provide additional advice and feedback as appropriate. To meet with supervisors from the School of Continuing Education and the Veterinary Technology Program to provide student and course progress checks and to ensure quality delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications

Registered veterinary technologist or animal health technologist having graduated form an accredited program with a minimum of three years recent/relevant clinical experience, preferably in a small or mixed animal general practice; or a veterinarian (DVM). Preference will be given to an VT/AHT diploma with a Bachelor’s degree. Prior experience with on-line teaching and Brightspace is an asset.

Effective communication skills.

Effective instructional ability. Formal teaching experience is an asset.

Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment

Demonstrates valuing diversity.

Ability to travel in and around Saskatoon.
