About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevSecOps Engineer with expertise in Kubernetes to join our dynamic team remotely, operating within EST hours. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud-native technologies, security principles, and infrastructure automation. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure the seamless and secure deployment of applications and services. This position requires eligibility for a Top Secret Security Clearance, reflecting the sensitive nature of our work and the high level of trust placed in our personnel.
Qualifications The successful candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in infrastructure and security, with a strong emphasis on cloud-native environments and security best practices. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with Kubernetes and related tools such as Rancher (RKE2), Kong, and other container orchestration platforms. A solid understanding of security principles, including identity and access management, authentication, authorization, and encryption, is essential. Experience with SSO and IDP solutions like Keycloak and LDAP is required. Additionally, familiarity with networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP is necessary. Knowledge of Ceph and Artifactory is considered a plus. Candidates should also possess a comprehensive understanding of security regulations including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to lead and mentor junior team members are vital for success in this role. Eligibility for a Top Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Design and Maintenance: Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s infrastructure and security systems, including Rancher (RKE2), Kubernetes, Ingress, Egress, Kong, Keycloak, Ceph, and Artifactory, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Security & Access: Oversee the security and integrity of applications and services by managing identity and access controls, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- SSO/IDP Implementation: Implement and sustain single sign-on (SSO) and identity provider (IDP) solutions using Keycloak and LDAP, facilitating secure and seamless user authentication.
- Network Security: Configure and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls, to safeguard organizational assets from threats.
- Policy & Compliance: Develop, enforce, and review security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Monitoring & Analysis: Continuously monitor system logs and security alerts to identify potential vulnerabilities or threats, and respond proactively to mitigate risks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to promote secure coding practices, conduct security testing, and validate application security measures.
- Leadership & Innovation: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members. Stay current with emerging security and DevSecOps trends, recommending innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
