Astro Hill Properties is seeking a hands-on Facilities Manager to join our operations team in Iqaluit, NU. This role is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional with Power Engineering certification and strong experience with boiler systems, building operations, and preventative maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical Work
- Oversee and participate in daily building operations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot boiler systems in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular building inspections and implement proactive solutions.
- Support and execute a robust preventative maintenance program for mechanical and building systems.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as part of an on-call rotation.
Leadership & Coordination
- Assist in managing and supporting maintenance staff.
- Coordinate scheduling and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations.
- Promote a safety-focused, positive team culture.
Reporting & Communication
- Provide updates on operations, issues, and progress to the Operations Manager.
- Prepare maintenance and system performance reports as required.
Qualifications
- Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate (required)
- 3–5 years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or related maintenance roles
- Strong mechanical and technical knowledge, especially in boiler operations
- Hands-on capability in repair, troubleshooting, and general building maintenance
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to assist with staff coordination and support team objectives
