About the role

The Engineering Student is responsible for assisting the engineering team with design projects as well as the manufacturing process. Primary responsibilities will include the preparation of CAD models, manufacturing drawings, development of work instructions and other supporting documentation, and assisting the engineering team with the design and manufacturing process. This is an 8 - 12 MONTH TERM STARTING IN JANUARY 2026

The compensation for this role will be commensurate based on education and/or experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Follows Badger best practices with a focus on Best Operator, Best Truck.
  • Develops and prepares engineering drawings and CAD models.
  • Assists with documentation and creates drawing packages.
  • Gathers and documents manufacturing work instructions.
  • Responds quickly to the shop floor's needs in response to addressing issues that may surface during production.
  • Supports manufacturing with the development of work instructions and other required documentation.
  • Interfaces with the Safety department in regard to repairs and additions, or changes as they relate to safety interaction for employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Currently enrolled as an Engineering student from an accredited institute.
  • CAD experience (Solidworks preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to get your hands dirty.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds, standing/walking for extended periods, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in various weather conditions.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering program at an accredited institution
  • Familiarity with CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of common software packages (MS Office, Acrobat, etc.)
  • Safe; you consider safety a personal value, which factors in all your choices
