ABOUT THE UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD (UGDSB)

The UGDSB employs a team of approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington, and the City of Guelph. The UGDSB covers the ancestral and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Six Nations of the Grand River, and Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Board and St. George's Centre for ESL invites qualified applicants to apply for one part-time permanent instructor position in the non-credit adult English language training program. The class level will be a Canadian Language Benchmark level 3 and 4.

Location: Guelph – Adult ESL at St. George's Centre – this is an in-person class

Hours/Days of Work: Equivalent to 5 hours and 20 minutes per week from 6:20 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

(which includes PBLA administration time); Monday and Wednesday

Rate of pay: $36.49 to $44.84 per hour

Qualifications:

  • TESL Ontario accreditation (in good standing)
  • Excellent knowledge of the Canadian Language Benchmarks
  • Familiarity with LINC curriculum documents
  • Knowledge of and experience with Portfolio Based Language Assessment
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver a multi-level task-based curriculum
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Proven commitment to learner success
  • Excellent organizational and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with Google Classroom is an asset

The final offer of employment for this position depends upon learner enrolment and funding. Duties will commence no sooner than Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
