AGI Newton, as part of AGI’s Commercial Platform, specializes in the engineering, design, fabrication, and installation of high-quality mild and stainless-steel equipment and systems for grain handling and food processors.
The Opportunity We are actively seeking an Installer to join our facility in Newton, Ontario. You will support the fabrication and assembly of service projects while on the road, as well as assist with maintenance and / or installation and construction of industrial machinery, up to and including the installation, repair, move or reassembly of machinery at an AGI facility or customer’s site.
Responsibilities
- Take direction and specific instructions from supervisor to successfully carry out assembly and installation tasks on a wide variety of equipment.
- Assist in completion of preventative maintenance and repairs as needed
- Competent welder and experience with working with various power tools
- Safe operation, maintenance, and inventory management of a service vehicle and / or trailer and power / hand tools
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment at the customer’s facility and make the necessary adjustments to bring equipment up to running status.
- Parts knowledge, interpretation of parts catalogues and parts ordering for repairs
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the AGI Code of Business Conduct.
Qualifications
- Welding experience is mandatory.
- High School Diploma, GED, or similar equivalent education required
- Available for frequent travel for extended periods of time.
- Millwright certification is an asset
- 2 + years’ experience operating in field installation services would be considered an asset.
- Experience with forklifts, aerial lifts and other heavy equipment
- Experience working on construction sites and with power tools / hand tools
- Aerial Lift License, Forklift License, Confined Space Certification are required – training will be provided
- Attention to detail, problem solving and exceptional communication skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Work at heights
- Maintain an orderly, clean and safe worksite
- Maintain and follow CVOR regulations applicable to AGI
- Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedures
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 pounds continuously.
