Café Manager – Port Moody
Caffè Divano is looking for a full-time Café Manager to lead our Port Moody café and become part of our family-run business.
For over 20 years, Caffè Divano has been a community gathering place built on warmth, quality, and connection. We proudly serve handcrafted specialty coffee alongside fresh, scratch-baked goods from our sister bakery, Gabi & Jules Handmade Pies & Pastries. With locations in Port Moody and Coquitlam, we’re passionate about creating welcoming spaces where both customers and staff feel genuinely cared for.
We’re looking for a hands-on leader who brings positivity, accountability, and strong people skills — someone who loves hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is excited to grow with a business that values kindness and community.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of food & beverage management experience, including:
- staff scheduling
- labour management
- inventory control
- ordering and supplier coordination
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating exceptional customer experiences
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support a diverse team with empathy, professionalism, and respect
- Food preparation knowledge or kitchen experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexible availability, including weekends and early mornings
- Interest in a long-term leadership role with autonomy and growth opportunities
Nice to Have
- Experience preparing specialty coffee beverages using a semi-automatic espresso machine
- Previous café or quick-service restaurant leadership experience
What You’ll Do
As Café Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the Port Moody café, ensuring a consistently high standard of service, product quality, and team culture. You’ll work closely with the owners and current manager during a 3–4 month training and transition period, with the goal of independently leading the café long-term.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Create staff schedules and manage labour targets
- Delegate responsibilities and oversee daily operations
- Hire, onboard, train, and coach team members
- Foster a supportive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture
- Recognize strong performance and address concerns professionally
Customer Experience
- Create a warm, welcoming environment for guests
- Build relationships with regular customers and community members
- Handle customer concerns with care and professionalism
- Maintain high standards of hospitality and service
Operations & Administration
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock levels
- Conduct regular inventory counts and minimize waste
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling standards
- Maintain café cleanliness, organization, and equipment upkeep
- Communicate clearly with ownership, supervisors, and shift leads
