ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY: Our client is searching for a Manager of AI Development & Data. This role is responsible for designing and delivering scalable, technology-driven solutions while overseeing governance and execution across a portfolio of initiatives. The position ensures alignment between business objectives and modern technology capabilities, with a strong focus on Microsoft platforms, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing technical team including developers, engineers, and project professionals
  • Define and execute application, data, and AI strategy leveraging Microsoft technologies and aligned to business priorities
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and architectures
  • Oversee end-to-end solution design including system architecture, integrations, APIs, and enterprise platform delivery
  • Provide hands-on leadership in application development including custom solutions, integrations, and enterprise systems
  • Establish and enforce development standards, secure coding practices, and DevOps pipelines (CI/CD, automated testing)
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices such as cloud-native development, microservices, and containerization
  • Evaluate emerging technologies including AI/ML, automation tools, and enterprise data platforms
  • Lead build vs. buy decision-making to optimize enterprise technology investments
  • Establish and lead a Project Management Office (PMO) including governance frameworks, standards, tools, and reporting
  • Manage project portfolio lifecycle including intake, prioritization, resource allocation, and strategic alignment
  • Ensure successful execution of projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Provide executive-level reporting on portfolio performance, risks, and value realization
  • Lead enterprise data initiatives including data modeling, reporting, business intelligence, and analytics
  • Define and execute AI strategy including use case prioritization, model delivery, governance, and measurement of outcomes
  • Act as a trusted advisor, driving adoption of enterprise solutions and digital best practices
  • Ensure documentation, continuous improvement, and operational sustainability of systems and processes

ROLE REQUIREMENTS (Technical Emphasis):

  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams across development, data, and delivery
  • Advanced expertise in software engineering, application architecture, and enterprise system design
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern development technologies (e.g., .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, backend services)
  • Deep expertise in the Microsoft technology ecosystem including Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), SharePoint, and Azure services
  • Strong experience with Microsoft cloud architecture including Azure services, identity and access management, and integrations
  • Experience designing and delivering solutions using Microsoft 365 and Power Platform technologies
  • Expertise in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, version control, and release management
  • Strong experience with data platforms including data modeling, ETL processes, and enterprise analytics solutions
  • Advanced capability in business intelligence and reporting tools including dashboard development and data visualization
  • Proven experience implementing AI/ML solutions including model lifecycle, deployment, and governance
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise integration including APIs, middleware, and system interoperability
  • Experience implementing application security and data protection best practices
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with focus on scalability, innovation, and continuous improvement REQUIRED ROLE EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
  • Post-secondary education in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Typically 10+ years of experience in software development, enterprise applications, or technology delivery
  • Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms, or project delivery considered an asset
