Position Overview
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Industrial Electrician plays a critical role in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems within the warehouse. This hands-on role requires a proactive problem-solver who can work independently, communicate effectively, and uphold high standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Repair
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electrical systems
- Identify MHE problems and work with operators to ensure the vendor is contacted to do the repair
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize operational downtime.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
- Maintain lighting systems, including LED fixtures, and perform basic building maintenance.
- Manage battery watering, sweeper/scrubber upkeep, and vendor coordination for rentals and fleet augmentation.
Technical Support & Problem Solving
- Able to identify problems associated with MHE.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to escalate issues and manage spare parts.
- Document findings and communicate resolutions clearly to stakeholders.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid Ontario Electrician License (309A or 442A).
- 2–4 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a warehouse or distribution centre.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills and a commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of electrical systems.
- Familiarity with working in a fast-paced 3PL industry is an asset.
- Additional assets: PLC knowledge, Microsoft Office proficiency, completed apprenticeship, JHSC certification.
Additional Requirements
- Day shift and afternoon shift open position
- On-call availability on the weekends and must have a valid driver’s license.
- Comfortable with physical tasks including lifting up to 25 lbs and repetitive motion.
- Comfortable working at heights
- MHE license & scissor lift license an asset
- Experience working with conveyor, control systems
