Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Scale House Supervisor will be responsible for directing and monitoring scale team members, overseeing and ensuring safety of personnel and reporting on daily/weekly objectives to verify task status and completion of objectives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Schedule, train, direct, motivate and evaluate all staff members to ensure daily/weekly operational objectives are completed in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepares staff schedules, approves/denies vacation requests based on operational requirements
- Facilitate training with new hire/transfer team members
- Evaluates team members on and ongoing basis and provides feedback for continuous improvement
- Directs daily duties and objectives
- Motivates staff to ensure positive moral and employee relations
- Collaborates with other departments, not limited to, QES, Maintenance, HR, Finance and accounting to assist in attaining goals and objectives
- Completes QES Incident reports and submits to QES
- Coordinates with Human Resources ensuring adequate staffing levels, assisting in the selection process, addressing disciplinary action, assisting with workplace investigations
- Completed batching, reports inventory adjustments to accounting and finance
- Monitors and approves employee timecards in accordance with governing law and established policies and procedures to ensure staff members are compensated accordingly
- May be required to oversee railcar administration performed by scale operators in accordance with prescribed procedures
- Receives loaded railcar weights from yard operations personnel
- Enters weights into Meyer and creates sales tickets
- Provides customers with advanced notice that railcar is on route to destination
- Sends customs documentation, if railcar is scheduled to cross boarders
- Consolidates all documents into one package for processing
- May be required to act as back up to dispatch role
Position Qualifications:
- 2 – 3 years’ experience with weigh scale operations
- 1 year experience in a leadership role
- Superior ability to train, coach, develop, and motivate staff members.
- Superior knowledge of scale operation.
- Good delegation, organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Meyer inventory, scale and cash systems
