About the role
Description
This role is primarily responsible for supporting the preparation of monthly gross profit reports, including month-end closing activities, forecasting, and business planning, while meticulously reviewing accounting data for accuracy and performing detailed variance analyses.
Responsibilities
- Support timely preparation of accurate financial reports in accordance with IFRS on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Reconcile financial information by collecting and analyzing accounting data
- Review and analyze financial accruals and make adjustments as necessary
- Assist with quarterly review and annual audit process
- Improve accounting process to ensure the best practices in place
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and perform other duties as needed
Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
- At least 1-3 years of experience in accounting and/or financial planning role
- Accounting designation and knowledge of SAP would be an asset
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS) and financial analysis techniques
- Understanding of financial closing processes and financial transaction flows
- Must be comfortable in dealing with large volume of data and to deliver the results on timely basis consistently
- Must be capable of automating routine excel exercises
- Must have proactive work approach
- Attention to detail with advanced MS office skills such as Power Query
