The Global Mobility function at OpenText (OT) supports the international and domestic movement of employees within a global workforce of more than 20,000. Reporting to the Director of Global Mobility, you will deliver an end-to-end mobility experience that covers complex scenarios - including immigration compliance, permanent transfers, commuting arrangements, short-term business travel, and long- or short-term assignments.
Our service delivery model is data-driven and insight-led, aligning with OT’s talent strategy and business objectives while managing compliance risk, optimizing cost, and elevating the employee experience. This role combines operational expertise with strategic consulting to shape the future of global mobility across the Americas, EMEA, and APJ regions.
Your Impact
Support the daily delivery of the company’s global mobility program across the Americas region, focusing on immigration risk management, operational excellence, and proactive stakeholder guidance and engagement.
Ideal for professionals with strong project management skills, advanced excel skills and an interest in applying AI and innovation to deepen technical expertise while influencing strategic program development.
What the role offers
Risk Management& Reporting
- Manage the global mobility tracking tool with the goal of creating dashboards and metrics to share with leadership and HR. Leverage the tool to respond to data request and proactively provide valuable insights for M and / or compliance purposes.
- Track work permit and visa expirations, using AI-enabled tools to flag deadlines and automate notifications.
- Maintain accurate, compliant mobility data; update records with renewals or permanent residency outcomes and notify HR and Payroll.
- Manage Keep mobility processes documented and audit-ready; identify risks early and recommend practical, solution focused improvements.
Program Operations& Vendor Management
- Coordinate with external immigration and relocation vendors to ensure timely case progression and a positive employee experience.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners to guide on case timelines, compliance steps and policy requirements.
- Advise on tax compliance and cross-border mobility implications, liaising with internal payroll and external tax providers.
- Drive digital transformation by identifying opportunities to integrate AI (e.g., smart case tracking, predictive cost modeling, automated updates).
- Manage reporting, vendor payments, and internal accounting processes related to mobility activities.
- Provide coverage and support for the EMEA and APJ regions as needed.
- Contribute to global mobility projects, policy updates, and process improvements.
Employee& Manager Support
- Consult with managers and HR Business Partners on mobility strategy and risk, advising on compliant, cost-effective solutions.
- Provide empathetic guidance to employees navigating relocation, ensuring clarity and a positive employee experience.
What you need to succeed
- 5 - 7 years of international mobility, relocation, or global HR experience (in-house or with a service provider).
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or business desired.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian immigration regulations; experience with other global regions is a plus.
- Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Professional communicator with discretion in sensitive situations.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable leveraging AI-driven tools to streamline workflows and reporting.
- Skilled at prioritizing effectively under time pressure.
Desirable Skills& Experience
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; able to interpret mobility data and turn insights into actions.
- Experience advising on tax compliance and cross-border mobility risk.
- Exposure to digital transformation or process automation initiatives.
