About the role

This Is a Great Role — For the Right Psychologist

If you’re a psychologist who values clinical depth, autonomy, and thoughtful systems, and you want to do meaningful work without running a solo practice in isolation, you’ll likely feel very at home at Limestone Clinic.

This role is for psychologists who enjoy complex case formulation, emotionally intense clinical work, and being part of a smart, grounded clinical community — without micromanagement, hustle culture, or beige therapy.

At Limestone, clinicians are often consistently well-booked when they offer in-person availability and engage with the clinic’s consultation and mentoring culture. We provide the infrastructure, referrals, and clinical environment that support strong outcomes. You retain professional autonomy and responsibility for your practice.

If you want to do serious work, think deeply, and still have a sustainable life — keep reading.

Role Structure (Please Read)

Psychologists practice autonomously and are responsible for their clinical work, documentation, and professional obligations. Limestone provides referrals, intake flow, client matching, operational systems, office space, and a collaborative clinical culture.

This role is best suited to psychologists who appreciate freedom with structure, clear expectations, and collegial accountability.

Our Philosophy

Limestone Clinic is unapologetically Anti-Beige.

We don’t offer vague, overly supportive therapy designed to keep everyone comfortable while nothing really changes. We believe good therapy is engaged, skilled, sometimes uncomfortable, and ultimately transformational.

Our clinicians are able to:

  • Sit with uncertainty and complexity
  • Stay regulated when clients are dysregulated or not improving neatly
  • Think systemically and clinically under pressure
  • Use consultation and dialogue to sharpen formulation and outcomes

If that excites you — welcome. If that sounds exhausting — this probably isn’t your place, and that’s okay.

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are

  • A psychologist who values depth, formulation, and real clinical impact
  • Comfortable working with emotionally intense, complex presentations
  • Curious, reflective, and open to clinical dialogue
  • Someone who enjoys contributing to — and benefiting from — a strong clinical culture
  • Interested in doing excellent work without running an isolated solo practice
  • A low-drama, high-integrity professional

You’re not trying to be the smartest person in the room. You’re trying to do the best work you can.

Trauma Work at Limestone (Important)

Trauma-informed is the floor, not the ceiling.

You are either:

  • Already trained in evidence-based trauma approaches (EMDR, Brainspotting, CPT, etc.), or
  • Actively committed to maintaining and developing trauma competence

Avoidance is not a strategy here.

Consultation & Clinical Dialogue

Psychologists at Limestone engage in consultation both as learners and contributors.

We value:

  • Thoughtful case discussion
  • Shared excitement about personal and professional growth opportunities
  • Shared clinical reasoning
  • Honest, respectful challenge

Psychologists who engage meaningfully in consultation tend to feel more confident, more effective, and more sustainably booked. While autonomy is respected, outcomes are strongest when clinicians participate in the clinical culture.

What We Offer

  • A steady referral stream with strong client matching
  • Operational systems that reduce administrative friction (while you remain responsible for clinical documentation and follow-up care)
  • A collaborative, no-lone-wolf culture
  • Fully furnished, professional office space
  • Optional monthly group supervision/consultation
  • Flexibility within structured in-person time blocks

Note: In-person clinicians fill faster and retain longer.

Next Step: Short Video Screening

Before interviews, selected applicants will be invited to submit a 3–5 minute video answering a few questions. This helps ensure mutual fit and respects everyone’s time.

You’ll be asked:

  • What drew you to this role and our clinic philosophy?
  • How do you approach complex or emotionally intense cases?
  • How do you typically use consultation or clinical dialogue in your work?
  • What does “doing good therapy” mean to you in practice?

To Apply

Please submit:

  • Your CV
  • A thoughtful cover letter
  • Professional references

If you’re looking for a psychologically serious clinic with strong values, real clinical conversation, and a sustainable way to practice — we’d love to hear from you.

Compensation:

$75 - $100 hourly

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality psychological assessment and psychotherapy to adult clients (primarily in-person)
  • Develop thoughtful case formulations and treatment plans for complex presentations
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with College standards
  • Practice ethically, within scope, and with appropriate risk management
  • Collaborate with Limestone intake and administrative systems to support client flow and continuity of care
  • Participate in consultation, mentoring, or clinical dialogue as appropriate
  • Refer to community resources or higher levels of care when clinically indicated

Qualifications:

  • Autonomous registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO / CPBAO) permitting independent or supervised practice
  • (Independent practice registrants given hiring preference)
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology
  • 3+ years of post-registration clinical experience preferred
  • Strong experience treating anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns
  • Comfortable working with emotionally intense and complex cases
  • Solid professional references who can speak to your clinical work and judgment
  • Tech-comfortable (email, calendar systems, PDFs, JaneApp, Slack)
  • Available to work a minimum of 10 clinical hours per week
  • In-person availability in Kingston is preferred but not required; hybrid or virtual arrangements may be considered for exceptional candidates. While Limestone is primarily an in-person clinic, we recognize the realities of the psychologist market and are open to flexible arrangements for strong-fit candidates

About Limestone Clinic

Hospitals and Health Care
11-50

Limestone Clinic is an Anti-Beige psychotherapy practice based in Kingston, Ontario.

We specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma, and we’re known for therapy that is active, engaged, and results-oriented — not vague, passive, or endlessly supportive at the expense of real change.

We believe good therapy sometimes feels steady and grounding — and sometimes feels uncomfortable, disorganizing, or emotionally intense before things improve. Our clinicians are expected to tolerate that messiness without panicking, rescuing, or defaulting to surface-level reassurance.

We value clinical skill, emotional maturity, accountability, and ongoing learning. Our team is collaborative, curious, and deeply committed to doing meaningful work — with clients and with each other.

At Limestone Clinic, therapists are supported, paid well, and freed from the hustle of marketing, admin, and referral-chasing so they can focus on what actually matters: doing excellent psychotherapy and going home without dread.

We are unapologetically anti-beige. If you’re looking for therapy (or a workplace) that’s pleasant but stagnant, we’re not your people. If you want depth, integrity, and real transformation — welcome.
