The Sarnia-Lambton Business Development Corporation, operating as Community Futures Lambton, is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering business and economic growth throughout Lambton County. As a proud member of the national Community Futures network, we support local entrepreneurs by providing access to loans, coaching, and community economic development initiatives.

Since 1988, Community Futures Lambton has issued over 900 business loans totaling $55 million, leveraging an additional $75+ million in community investment and contributing to the creation and maintenance of over 11,000 local jobs.

About BizLink

In January 2026, Community Futures Lambton will launch BizLink—an exciting new initiative designed to connect business buyers and sellers confidentially and securely. The program uses a proven digital platform to facilitate business transitions and includes personalized coaching, access to financing, and professional referrals to valuators, lawyers, and accountants.

About the Role

As the BizLink Business Development Officer, you will play a key role in launching and leading this innovative program across Lambton County. You will be the primary point of contact for BizLink clients—providing business coaching, facilitating matches between buyers and sellers, and collaborating with local partners to support business succession and transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations and delivery of the BizLink program.
  • Oversee client intake, qualification, and matchmaking processes.
  • Provide personalized coaching and support to business buyers and sellers.
  • Facilitate loan applications through Community Futures Lambton where appropriate.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data integrity at all times.
  • Develop and deliver educational workshops and resources on business transition and succession.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with local economic development organizations, business associations, and professional service providers.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Officer on promotional campaigns and community outreach.
  • Support the Loans Officer and other CF Lambton staff during periods of high volume or absence.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, commerce, or finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years’ experience providing business advice, counselling, or coaching.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in banking, lending, or a related financial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Confident public speaker and networker in professional settings.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Note: This position is not currently offered with a remote work option.
