

About the role
Mikisew Group is hiring a full-time Payroll Coordinator to join our team.
Purpose & Key Accountabilities Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position will primarily be responsible for processing weekly payroll for union and non-union employees and working closely with Finance and HR departments on payroll related tasks and inquiries.
Working Conditions The position is based out of our head office location in Enoch.
Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and process full cycle union and non-union weekly payrolls for 500+ employees Maintain internal controls to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of payroll processes Respond to internal and external payroll inquiries Collaborate with work sites to ensure data entry accuracy Audit the new hires and re-hires set up to ensure accuracy prior to payroll processing Process employees’ terminations and ROEs Generate weekly Journal Vouchers reports Generate weekly CRA remittance reports Generate and file weekly Sun Life reports Prepare and reconcile monthly Union and Garnishees reports Reconcile Payroll GL Liability accounts Prepare and process annual GPMA rates and benefits updates Prepare and file T4s, T2200 and WCB annual returns
Qualifications/Skills Minimum 3+ years of payroll administration experience Previous experience in Unionized payroll processing is preferred Accounting Background is preferred Solid Understanding of Employment Standards and Government Regulations Strong attention to detail Must be able to handle confidential information in professional manner Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Possess problem solving and troubleshooting skills Adaptable, reliable, and organized
Education Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is preferred
