UH Patient Food

The Food Services Clerk provides support required for the provision of appropriate foods to patients from Patient Food Services. The Food Services Clerk ensures that patient needs are met by reviewing and processing electronic patient record (EPR) orders translated to Food Services Diet Office software, CBORD, including diet, allergy, and enteral orders, printing and entering menu selections, printing meal tray tickets, printing reports for food service operations, and communicating patient care area needs to the dietary workers. The Food Services Clerk processes food related requests for individual patients from inpatient and outpatient care units, the Dietetic Assistants, the Registered Dieticians, and the Speech Language Pathologists.

Rate of Pay: $27.54 per hour - $34.42 per hour

Qualifications

What you bring:

  • Successful completion of a Secondary School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the Hospital
  • Successful completion of Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Minimum 9 months recent, related work experience preferably in the areas of diets, menus, and tube feeds
  • Recent experience with CBORD systems preferred
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving skills to situations
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Demonstrated advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of & commitment to the principles of patient & family centered care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
