About the role

Location: Windsor, ON Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, has an immediate opportunity for a Hot Briquette Plant Supervisor at the Windsor, ON operation. The Hot Briquette Plant Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of employees and administering policies and procedures that will contribute to the site's operations running efficiently. Summary of Responsibilities: Supervises thermal power processing equipment. Examines materials and products at various stages of processing for conformance to specifications. Observes machines and equipment for malfunction and orders adjustments or repairs, or directs workers to make adjustments or repairs. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Sets up machines and equipment. Operates a 24 hour/ 7 days a week operation and maintains continuous work production. Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED. Two years of supervisor experience Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word) Excellent customer oral and written communication skills Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making Collaborative; builds and works with teams Ability to coach and mentor Pre-employment background, physical are required The salary range for this role is $20.00 - $30.00 CAD an hour. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
