About the role

Are you an experienced production leader with a passion for driving safety, quality, and team performance in a manufacturing environment?

We’re hiring a Lead Hand – Production for a leading manufacturing organization. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting production teams, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity remain top priorities across the plant floor. You will play a key role in operator training, process improvement, production coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead Hand – Production Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day support to Production Teams while promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, and productivity Ensure all production personnel understand and follow applicable procedures, equipment requirements, and check fixture processes Train operators on safety procedures, manufacturing processes, and quality inspection standards Support workstation set-ups including installation, testing, and adjustment of tools and fixtures in presses and process machines Drive Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives with support from MPS teams Ensure production and inventory reports are completed accurately and entered into CMI systems in a timely manner Monitor employee adherence to procedures and company policies while providing coaching and performance feedback Collaborate with Production Supervisors to coordinate worker activities according to daily production schedules Assist management in promoting plant-wide compliance with safety rules and operational standards Work closely with Quality Control to ensure first-off inspections and production quality standards are achieved Support the resolution of quality concerns in partnership with Team Leaders, QC, and production personnel Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on production efficiency, quality, and operational performance Utilize CMI systems to monitor schedules, production reporting, and customer delivery requirements Track and report daily efficiency, scrap, and downtime metrics Record and approve employee hours within the Time & Attendance system

Lead Hand – Production Qualifications:

Previous experience in a manufacturing leadership, Lead Hand, or Team Lead role Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, and continuous improvement principles Experience supporting operator training and team development Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and manufacturing quality standards Experience working with production reporting systems and Time & Attendance systems Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skills Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while supporting daily production requirements Experience participating in Kaizen or continuous improvement initiatives is considered an asset Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence

Employment Details
