Term of Appt: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week

Reporting to: Person Responsible for Training (PRT)
Salary:
Classification 13, $29.92 - $30.85 per hour in accordance with the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Vacation is pro-rated and front-loaded (approx. 99.25 hours/year). Support Collective Agreement includes time off for family illness, personal illness, and other special leaves. Closure during the Christmas Break (December 25 – January 1) of each year is paid time off.
This position is provided with a seasonal layoff notice (approx. late June/early July with recall each year for late August/early September). Enrolment in the Municipal Pension Plan is mandatory for staff in this position.
Description:
The Tool Crib Attendant maintains and controls computerized inventory and provides controlled access to tools, parts, and materials in stores for the AMT program.
This position uses parts and warehousing skills to implement and maintain a servicing and maintenance program relevant to aircraft maintenance industry standard, the NLC Training Policy Manual (TPM) and Training Operations Manual (TOM).
The Tool Crib Attendant supports instructors in the orientation of students to the Aircraft Management System and supports students to gain an understanding of tool crib procedures. They track the inventory of parts and supplies on an as-needed basis, taking into consideration minimums and maximums. Costing and purchasing are a major component of the position.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Completion of Grade 12.
- Fundamental knowledge of and/or background in the management of tools and mechanical parts.
- Excellent organizational, teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with the current version of Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 40 pounds (18 kg).
Preferred:
- Mechanical aptitude with previous warehousing and parts experience.
- Experience working with an inventory ordering system (e.g., min/max system).
