Infrastructure (Water & Sewer) Dozer Operator
About the role
Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for Water and Sewer Dozer Operators supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Edmonton area.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Dozer as it applies to ditching, sloping, support clean up in excavators and embankments, ripping, backfill etc. along with the ability to read grade stakes.
- Conduct pre and post operation equipment inspections and fill out daily checklist.
- Ensure a solid understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and crew members.
- Work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to meet project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years dozer experience in water/sewer installations, subdivision servicing, road construction and urban renewal projects.
- Reliable transportation to and from site
- Ability to work extended hours, including up to 12 hours per day, Monday to Saturday
- CSTS/OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification, Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive, First Aid and Safe Trenching are considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction environment
