Key Qualifications:
- Secondary school graduate, with post-secondary education in Nutrition preferred
- Minimum two year relevant experience in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of basic food and nutrition required, preference will be given to those with knowledge of diet therapy
- Demonstrated customer service and communication skills, handling issues and problem solving with tact and diplomacy
- Excellent computer skills (Computrition, Microsoft Office, Internet)
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple demands in a fast paced environment
- Proven organizational and team work skills
- Able to work independently and prioritize workload and handle demands in a fast paced environment
- Positive work and attendance performance essential
Position Summary:
- Responsible for working as part of a dynamic and diverse team to support the patient experience with excellent food service
- Responsible for obtaining patients’ meal choices via computer for two meals daily
- Working closely with the patient food services assembly team
- Provides front-line service to patients and families, particularly food and meal requests and queries and related concerns.
- Works efficiently and effectively to meet department operational timelines
- Responsible for processing meal tickets for meals, nourishments and tube feedings
- Handles basic problems and refers issues beyond your scope to a Diet Technician or Nutrition and Food Service Team Leader Other duties as assigned
