We’re Hiring!

We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Maintenance Technician in our Facilities Department at our Leamington ON facility.

What You'll Do:

• Checking work orders on ConnectWise, prioritizing their work orders with the assistance of the Maintenance Manager, and closing them when completed.
• Accurately updating and closing work orders as completed.
• Troubleshoot and complete routine repairs, general maintenance, and preventative maintenance, such as: installation and maintenance of machines and equipment, emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment as well as scheduled maintenance repairs as directed.
• Regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities as directed.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance around the farm as required. i.e. fixing leaks in bathrooms/lunchrooms, irrigation leaks in the greenhouse, repairing scissor carts for greenhouse.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual issues to the Maintenance Manager.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Request parts from Tool Crib as required for machinery or anything that is requiring repair.
• Borrow and return tools/supplies from the Tool Crib as needed.
• Provide support in the greenhouse with crop cleanout.
• Must comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.
• This job description highlights the main components but is not inclusive of other activities that may be required.

What You Bring:

• 3+ years general farm maintenance experience are assets.
• Welding experience an asset.
• Experience utilizing both manual and electrical tools.
• Adept at comprehending work orders and diverse report formats.
• Familiarity with interpreting manuals and drawings considered an asset.
• Essential grasp of basic math principles.
• Capable of methodically analyzing and resolving problems; exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Must be commitment to safety protocols, maintaining a neat work environment.
• Available to work on-call evenings and weekends, ensuring timely response to emergencies.
• Must be dedicated to continuous learning.
• Valid driver license and use of personal vehicle are required

What To Expect:

• Some confidentiality in regard to company-related matters.
• Multi-tasking, time management and prioritizing are essential.
• Able to work independently but also a good team player.
• The Maintenance Technician is expected to report to work from Monday-Saturday with the possibility of after hours or on call.
• The warehouses/greenhouses may be hot, humid or cold at any time of the year.
• Exposure to pests in the greenhouse.
• Safety shoes required.
• Travel from one location to the next or phase to phase may be required.
• Working at heights may be required.
• The Maintenance Technician will be required to do some heavy lifting, digging etc. It would be beneficial to be physically fit.
• Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
