**ETL Developer (3 month contract)
Location: Vancouver, BC
Staffing Placement Opportunity** About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled ETL Developer to join our team and support critical data integration and migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, data integration tools (Azure Data Factory or SSIS), and SQL Server. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes to ensure seamless data flow between systems, enabling reliable reporting and analytics across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory or SSIS.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures.
- Develop scalable and efficient solutions for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into SQL Server.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform data profiling, quality checks, and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Monitor ETL processes and troubleshoot performance or data issues proactively.
- Support migration of historical and transactional data from legacy systems to modern platforms.
- Document ETL processes, data mappings, and workflows for future reference.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL (writing queries, performance tuning, creating stored procedures).
- Proven experience with Azure Data Factory or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Solid understanding of SQL Server database design, development, and optimization.
- Experience in developing and managing ETL pipelines for large-scale data sets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills (Nice To Have)
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Synapse).
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Exposure to other ETL/ELT or data pipeline tools.
- Experience in data validation, data governance, or quality assurance.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as an ETL Developer or in a similar data engineering role.
