Applications are now being accepted for Temporary Part Time Physiotherapy Externs to work in the Rehab Department. The successful applicant will have a commitment of 37.5 hours per pay period to this position and will be required to work days Monday-Sunday including holidays. Please note, this is a temporary position scheduled to end upon graduation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Adhere to policies and procedures established for the assigned department while supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of Erie Shores Healthcare
• Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information
• Assist with comfort measures and patient safety by ensuring the environment is clean and tidy and free of hazards
• Participate as a team member
• Assisting to mobilize patients under the guidance of a nursing/physiotherapy professional
• Aiding in Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s)
• Perform any other relevant duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Human Kinetics student in year two or higher of study required

• Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required

• Demonstrate infection prevention and control practices

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills

• Demonstrate excellent organizational and time-management skills
