Req ID: 1928 Business Unit: Parks Recreation and Environmental Services Division: Panorama Recreation Regular / Auxiliary: Auxiliary Job Type: Auxiliary as and when needed Pay Grade: CAN/05/02/J04 Rate of Pay: $29.16 - $31.41 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits Hours of Work: Varies - as and when needed, including days, evenings and weekends Posting Date: June 2, 2026 Closing Date: Open until filled Summary This position performs basic maintenance and routine cleaning and custodial duties of a public recreation facility.Key Duties & Responsibilities Performs routine building cleaning functions including cleaning public areas and replenishing supplies. Assists with ensuring building, vehicles and equipment are secure. Performs basic grounds maintenance tasks as directed. Assist with set up for special events, as directed. Follows all policies, procedures, and standards of the CRD. Performs other related duties as required.Additional Information Ability to to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, to meet operational needs.Key Skills & Abilities Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills are required. Basic knowledge of building maintenance and building cleaning. Knowledge of materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial and building maintenance work, including the safe handling of chemicals, corrosive materials and pressurized gases. Knowledge and understanding of WorkSafeBC practices/protocols, Workers' Compensation Act and OHandS Regulations and other relevant safety statutes. Sufficient physical strength and stamina to perform the required duties. Ability to work a variety of shift schedules as required.Qualifications High School Graduation A minimum of six months' directly related experience Certifications WHMIS Certification Valid BC Driver's Licence Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
