Steel Service Center – Lead Hand / Area Supervisor

With the expansion of our facility, Cascadia Metals requires qualified candidates for the position of Lead-Hand or Area Supervisor in our Brandon facility. The successful candidate will be a driven team member, who shares our champion mindset and values. This is a hands-on role where the candidate is expected to help complete tasks while providing support to other employees in the area.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with production schedulers and other area leaders/supervisors
  • Report to the Operations Manager
  • Adhere to proper procedure and safety regulations
  • Ensure correct personal protective equipment is always used
  • Promote safety, quality and efficiency
  • Help maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Culminate a strong team culture – Lead by example
  • Monitor for potential mechanical problems and assist with routine maintenance
  • Be comfortable with all duties in the area – Direct and develop new and existing employees
  • Act as a role model for Cascadia Metals standards, values and behaviors.

Requirements:

  • Experience with industrial processing equipment and/or mechanical systems
  • Must be highly mechanically inclined
  • Excellent communication, organizationaltracking skills
  • Strong decision makingproblem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Average computer skills
  • Must be able to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Leadership experience is an asset
  • Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is an asset
