Responsibilities
- Set up and remove traffic control signs, cones, barricades, arrow boards, and other devices in accordance with local and state regulations.
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic using signs, hand signals, or flagging techniques.
- Ensure safety of workers and the public by monitoring traffic conditions and adjusting controls as needed.
- Communicate with crew leaders and other technicians regarding site status and hazards.
- Inspect traffic control equipment to ensure it is clean, functional, and properly placed.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and reports.
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and local/state regulations.
- Work outdoors in varying weather and road conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
- G license and clean abstract
- TCP Book 7 certification or willingness to attend training
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous construction experience
Day in the Life You will start your day early by preparing and transporting equipment to the worksite. You will set up and maintain safe work zones on highways, working in fast-paced and high-risk environments. Throughout your shift, you will monitor traffic flow and adjust setups as needed to protect workers and drivers. You will stay alert and active, working outdoors in all weather conditions. At the end of the day, you will safely break down the site and ensure everything is cleared.
