About the role
Our client, a global financial services and digital payments company, is seeking a Data Migration Specialist.
The Data Migration Specialist plays a crucial role in the onboarding experience by facilitating the secure transfer of card‑on‑file data from external processors to our Client's platform. You'll work with a Java‑based migration tool to handle complex data transfers while ensuring security, accuracy, and compliance. This role combines technical expertise with customer‑facing communication, requiring both strong engineering skills and exceptional interpersonal abilities.
The successful candidate will manage the queue of migration requests while continuously improving internal tooling and processes.
This position is a remote 9-month contract . You must be able to work in Canada . The hourly rate is $41.67 CAD, W2 + paid holidays through Talent Table. NO C2C.
You Will:
- Execute and manage an ongoing queue of card‑on‑file migration requests from external processors to Client's platform.
- Collaborate directly with sellers and third‑party processors to coordinate complex data migrations.
- Maintain, enhance, and debug the internal Java‑based data migration tool through code changes, pull requests, and thorough testing.
- Partner with internal engineering teams to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure integration with Client's broader platform.
- Research, design, and prototype new data migration solutions to support evolving seller needs.
Skills You Have:
-Technical Proficiency: Strong experience writing, debugging, and maintaining Java applications, with a solid understanding of object‑oriented programming principles. -API Experience: Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON data formats, and third‑party integrations. -Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. -Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent migration projects with varying timelines and priorities. -Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with great attention to detail in data accuracy and security. -Collaboration: Experience working effectively with cross‑functional teams and external partners in a fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Computer Science, or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
