Are you passionate about shaping the future of health care education? We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced HCA Program Manager to lead and oversee our Health Care Aide program in Calgary. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure the program consistently meets high standards, supports exceptional instruction, and complies with curriculum requirements. You’ll also drive continuous improvement in teaching practices and learning outcomes, helping our students thrive in their careers.

Key Accountabilities

  • In collaboration with the Program Head, oversee the day-to-day activities of the HCA team in Calgary campus and ensuring student needs are being met to the best of the College’s ability
  • To lead, manage the Calgary team in order to achieve the highest academic excellence and standards
  • Managing changes to the program
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., Alberta Health, Ministry of Advanced Education, etc.).
  • Promoting a positive and healthy learning environment for both students and colleagues
  • In collaboration with the Program Head liaise with accrediting and licensing agencies for program audits and approvals
  • Monitor and update curriculum to reflect current best practices and standards
  • Mentoring the Calgary HCA team members
  • Responsible for nurturing a culture of professionalism and high performance, encouraging positive communications, collaboration, and a high level of service to both students and colleagues.
  • Secure Practicum locations for students, and manage relationships between the facility and the college
  • Scheduling staff within time & attendance system, ensuring the appropriate staffing levels are maintained
  • Demonstrate ability to solve problems, mediate conflict, and facilitate difficult conversations
  • Assists in the development, modification, and examination of curriculum as it relates to the learning needs of students
  • Coordinate and maintain clinical placements in partnership with healthcare facilities.
  • Ensure clinical sites meet program standards and learning objectives.
  • Maintain relationships with external stakeholders
  • Analyze data and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on student outcomes, evaluations, and industry feedback.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, Health Sciences, or a related field required
  • Master's degree in education, Nursing, or Health Administration is preferred
  • Registered with the appropriate professional body in good standing
  • Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Adult Education, Curriculum Development, or Leadership is an asset
  • Training in Conflict Resolution or Mediation is an asset

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in healthcare or health education
  • Experience teaching or managing a health care aide or similar health program
  • Experience in program development and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in accreditation processes and working with regulatory bodies is preferred
  • Proven track record in staff development and performance management
  • Familiarity with student support services and academic advising
  • Experience in budgeting and resource allocation within an educational setting
