Job Summary This position is responsible for receiving, recording, and balancing payments for municipal services while providing courteous and efficient service to the public.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Receive and process payments for taxes, utilities, licenses, permits, and other municipal fees.
  • Issue receipts and maintain accurate cash records and deposit reports.
  • Reconcile daily cheque, debit, credit and online payment transactions.
  • Respond to inquiries from residents regarding billing, payments, and account balances.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with municipal financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • High School or equivalent
  • A diploma in Business or Accounting would be an asset.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in an office environment, preferably in an accounting function with a customer service component.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good data entry skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Organized and attentive to detail
