Administrative Support II-Clinical Trials Assistant, Trial Launch Team
About the role
Your Opportunity:
The Administrative Support II - Clinical Trials Assistant provides vital operational support to the Trial Launch Team (TLT), CTU Management, and study staff within the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). In this role, you will help coordinate trial launch and study initiation activities, manage the unit's archiving process, and assist with site feasibility and selection. Key responsibilities include organizing and tracking startup workflows under Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and liaising with associated partners as needed, i.e. NACTRC/legal to facilitate research contracts and Department Operational Approvals. Other related administrative and study-related duties may be assigned as needed. The ideal candidate exhibits exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a strict commitment to maintaining confidential information. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating professionally with internal clinical trial staff and external vendors. To succeed, you must be a flexible team player who functions well independently, multitasks effectively under competing demands, and thrives in a busy, fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions. While this position is initially assigned to support the TLT team, responsibilities and cross-coverage may adapt to support other tumor groups within the CTU as operational needs evolve.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
1-2 years’ experience in a clinical trial setting, providing support in a team environment. Understanding of clinical trial regulatory documents, monitoring and study start-up processes. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat programs. Proven ability to prioritize workload and multi-task effectively in a busy area with multiple interruptions and competing demands. Physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, lifting office/medical supplies and equipment weighing up to 40 lbs., and using repetitive motions, lifting, bending, reaching and standing for prolonged periods. Must be able to transport large volumes of materials (office supplies, charts, boxes, etc.) to various areas on a regular basis, and push/pull loaded carts. Due to the intense daily interactions and considerable coordination requirements of our trial initiation teams and external vendors, optimal daily work attendance with minimal absences is required. Preferred Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a health-related field preferred (equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered). Training in Good Clinical Practice, ICH and Health Canada Regulatory requirements.
